1 day in Budapest from Vienna

One day itinerary in budapest

We took a day to Budapest from Vienna via train at only 39euro return. But you need to purchase the ticket at the larger station. >>
http://www.oebb.at/en/Travelling_abroad/Travel_tips/Excursion_ticket_Budapest/index.jsp

When we reached Budapest is like 12 noon. Our itinerary as follows:

Castle District & Fisherman's Bastion
Castle Hill, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, consists of two parts: the Royal Palace itself and the so-called Castle District
Getting to Castle District: either take trams 4, 6 to Széll Kálmán tér then walk up to the district, or get on the Castle bus (No. 16, it departs from Deák tér - a metro hub of the city - if it's more convenient for you) or take the Funicular from Clark Adam Square at the Buda end of Chain Bridge (Lánchíd). This way you get a closer view of the first permanent bridge of Budapest that became the symbol of the Hungarian capital.
No need to buy any tickets. dont go and buy tickets to go Fisherman's Bastion . U can just take photo and see the view from the restuarant.
View from Castle
Chain Bridge
then go Vaci Utca - just a shopping street to chill
Then go Great Market Hall - is like the Melbourne Victoria Market. Eat lunch and buy souvenirs there. Fruites there are damn cheap.
Great Market Hall
We have not much time so we din go to the bath. But if u got time u can go there. Follow the a day in budapest itinerary in this link> http://www.hostelworld.com/pdfguides/generatepdf.php?PDFCity=Budapest&free=yes for more information.

Lake Lucerne boat rides to see Pilatus - 2.5hr
27.2
Take the train to Luzern - you can either visit this city or take a boat on the lake. I would really do the latter. But make sure you're wearing a jumper (aka Sweater) - it will be chilly (max. 5-6°C). with Swiss pass - lake boat ride is free.
Just exit the station and head down to the lake and the dock (less than 500 metres). From there take a boat to Alpnachstadt (1 hour and a half) at the base of Mount Pilatus. When you disembark from the boat, you are a mere 200 metres from the Pilatus railway station.
View from Pilatus is beautiful. Now take the cable-car down the back-side of the mountain. You descend in stages - first with a cable-car, then with a series of gondolas. At each station, you have the chance to alight and eat at a restaurant serving traditional Swiss food.
Once at the base station in the little town of Kriens, take the bus back to Luzern. Walk to Old town Lucerne

At Zurich
At Zurich

In summary, every view in Switzerland are beautiful and breathtaking. It is so amazing that a city like Zurich can be so peaceful and beautiful yet so modern and developed. The rivers, the lakes n etc.. everything is so clean and clear. No polution in a city with vehichles on the road.

Dining options:

Suggestions for restaurants for Zurich.
All would be fine for lunch as well, note that Zurich restaurants have pretty set serving hours for lunch, between like 11:30 and 2, so except in sandwich or bratwurst bars you won't find lunch at a late hour generally.
Kronehall ,Rämistrasse 4, 8001,Tel: 41-1-251 6669
This is probably Zurich's most famous restaurant, also one if its oldest. A favourite with locals, their bar is worth a look and a drink. Classic Swiss-German food. Unless you speak German, however, you tend to be overlooked by staff.
Kuferstubli,Limmatquai 40
This is the ground floor stubli (more casual) restaurant of the Zunfthaus zur Zimmerleuten, a tiny cellar-like room. In good weather they have a few tables under the covered walkway in front. Very charming, I actually think it has a bit more atmosphere than the main restaurant. Good food, a I think bit more value for money than the main restaurant, above.
Cantinetta Antinori,Augustinergasse 25, 8001,Tel: 41-1- 211 7210
Excellent Italian food in a great location on the left bank of the old town not far from the Banhofstrasse. A bit less expensive and casual than the other places above. This is run by the Antinori winery in Tuscany, so they have an excellent wine list. They have some outdoor tables which are nice on a warm evening.
Vorderer Sternen,Restaurant Sterne Foifi,Theatrestrasse 22,(at Bellevue tram stop)
Very good restaurant serving European and Swiss specialties, esp good for Veal Zurich style. If you can get a window seat (upstairs or downstairs) you will get a good view of the tram station and lake.
Sternen Grill Bratwurst Stand,Freitgasse and Theatrstrasse,Next door to Vorderer Sternen
Next door to Vorderer Sternen is their famous bratwurst stand. Just look for the line. The kitchen and all tables are outdoors, you can also do takeaway. A glass of beer and a bratwurst and you are a Zuricher! Great people watching as well. Not expensive, bratwurst starts at about $5. FYI, most bratwurst in Switzerland is veal, not pork. It is really delicious.
Zum Grünen Glas, Untere Zäune 15,Zürich
Very good modern French food near the University and the Kunsthaus Museum. Small garden in back.
Molino,Limmatquai 16
Good basic pizzas and Italian food. Nice location on the river looking onto the Fraumunster.
Tibits,Seefeldstrasse 2
Casual, good food. Picnic tables outside. This is just past the Opera House on the right. Can eat in or take away.
Kantorei,Spiegelgasse 33,Intersection with Neumarkt
Very good Italian and fusion Italian-Asian food. Interesting part of the old town, a few blocks off the river.
Café Walthi,Schoffegasse 3,(Old town, right bank)
Great crepes. Extremely casual, not expensive, lots of university students. Quite small. No outdoor area, but you could do a takeaway and go across the street to the river for a very casual picnic.
Brasserie Restaurant Lipp,Uraniastrasse 9,(just off the Bahnhoffstrasse near the river)
Popular local restaurant with Swiss and European dishes. No outside seating. Casual bistro--type atmosphere.
Sprungli,21 Banhofstrasse
This is the main shop of the famous chocolate-maker with a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and ice cream. Nice on a sunny day to sit outside, not sure it is worth it unless you can sit outside, IMO, as there are other better choices for inside dining.

For breakfast and quick lunch suggest to buy bread/biscuit from supermarket and made your own :)
