5-May | Cinque Terre (It is pronounced Cheen Kway Ter Ray | http://www.tripadvisor.com/Travel-g187895-c140988/Florence:Italy:How.To.Day.Trip.To.The.Cinque.Terre.html: It is a long day and takes approx 2.5 – 3 hours each way just for travel and usually involves some train changes (either at Pisa or La Spezia or both). It is a long day if you do this on your own, so you should plan on leaving Florence as early as you can to make the most of it. On Sunday mornings in Summer there is usually a direct Regional train to all the Cinque Terre villages, leaving Firenze S. M. Novella station about 07.45. This train also runs on some Saturdays and a very few other days close to national holidays. On other days, you will have to change trains. The fastest morning connection currently uses a Frecciabianca train from Firenze Campo di Marte station at 07.39. Early morning options from Firenze S. M. Novella require the use of an Intercity or Frecciabianca train between Pisa and la Spezia, except for a Regional train to la Spezia leaving at 06.08 which is very slow. From all of these, a change to a Regional train is necessary in la Spezia. Buy your tickets in Florence all the way to your chosen Cinque Terre station, or you will have to buy another ticket in la Spezia. Always check your train times on www.trenitalia.com first, clicking the UK flag first for English, as this page may be out of date at the time of consultation. Click the UK flag first for English, then enter 'from' Firenze (tutte le stazioni') and 'to' the name of your chosen Cinque Terre village. Enter your 'hour' of departure as '5' for 05.00 to see all trains. Use a date within one week of consulting the website to see the fares of journeys entirely by Regional trains. For your return, later departures are possible from Monterosso and Riomaggiore than from other villages. The fastest return journey use the 20.07 Frecciabianca to Firenze Campo di Marte, but all other connections go to Firenze S. M. Novella. Journeys entirely by Regional trains are the cheapest if buying on the day of travel. On summer Sundays (etc. as above) there is a direct Regional train from all villages leaving around 18.30. You must validate (time/date-stamp) Regional tickets before boarding |

This is where (at Piazza della Chiesa 14) you'll find the tourist office, which is where you'll meet your group for the 11am tour of the gardens and mansion of the famous Villa Serbelloni. (You must book this one ahead of time at tel. +39-031-951-1555 or +39-031-950-204—and it only departs if at least 6 people sign up; there's a second tour daily at 3:30pm.) You have two choices on how to get there: By bus: The bus from Bellagio to Como (www.sptlinea.it) takes 70 minutes, is more frequent, and costs a bit less. By boat: The far more scenic option is to take a 40-min cruise from Bellagio to Como along the lake's southwestern arm, sliding past elaborate villas surrounded by sumptuous gardens that run all the way down to the water's edge (www.navigazionelaghi.it). You might catch the 2:42pm ferry—which would give you more time in Como—if not, the next (and final) boat to Como leaves at 3:31pm (at 3:27pm on Sundays). | |||||

A Must to Do! Walk over the
Golden Gate Bridge. It is very windy and cold so please wear enough warm
cloth. When you return to the southern end, board either Muni bus no. 28 or 29 (be sure to ask the driver if the bus is headed toward Golden Gate Park). |

Cable car in the early morning
like 7.30am to avoid the crowd and view early morning of the San Francisco
city. The sun rise, the up and down road, the people, the building… Did not go to Alcatraz as I personally don't like to go to visit Jail. |
