Drive from Munich at 8am, pick up rental car, 2 hr drive + remember buy winshield ticket from petrol station











 Be sure to stop at a gas station/rest stop after leaving the airport and buy the Austrian Vignette (toll sticker for driving on highways in Austria). Sold in Germany after leaving the airport. Cost is 9 Euro for a windshield sticker for 10 days. DO NOT drive on a highway in Austria without this.

Nordkette mountain offers the best views.Panorama of city and mountain is the highlight.

The Nordkettenbahn trip has a total of 3 different legs:
1st leg: Hungerburgbahn (tram) from Innsbruck up to Hungerburg.
2nd leg: Cable car from Hungerburg to the Seegrube station.
3rd leg: Seegrube station to the top station, Hafelekar station.

If you lucky, there will be snow at the top and allow you to have snow activities.

Hungerburg funicular: 7.15 am - 7.15 pm (Mon-Fri) + 8 am - 7.15 pm (Sat,Sun,public holiday)
Seegrube cable car: 8.30 am - 5.30 pm (Mon-Sun) +  Friday night: 6 am - 11.30 pm
Hafelekar cable car: 9 am - 5 pm (Mon-Sun)

Transport:  There’s a shuttle bus that runs from Innsbruck city centre and back every few hours. A return ticket costs EUR 9.50 for adults, but if you have the Innsbruck Card it’s included. Parking is available on site, free of charge. 30mins drive from city center.
